websites

Just some information, If you are like me and have a hard time finding crafts stuff overseas. Two websites that I found that shipping is free for apo addresses are.

http://www.scrapyourtrip.com
and
http://www.joann.com

Also Joann.com ships free for apo and then you can also use the 50 percent coupons too. I ordered a funkin pumpkin to carve a georgia bulldog on and it was orginally 19.99. I used my 50 percent coupon and the shipping was free, so it only cost me 10.00. Just thought some of you would be intrested, that like to do crafts.

Avery joined the art club at school. They meet every wen after school for 30 minutes starting oct 22nd. It is only for 4th and 5th graders. They make all kinds of neat stuff in the club.
Thought you guys would get a kick out of this. Last night, Hunter asked if we could adopt another brother. I asked him "Why? you already have a brother." He said he wants a new, nicer brother. Me , Robbie and avery started laughing. Hunter is funny, with the things he says.

Sunday,

Those of you who know Robbie, Sunday wasn't a very nice day. Georgia chocked bad. And that set the mood for this week. At least we have a week off and then we can start fresh on the 11 against Tennessee. Even uga on the game looked upset at the results.
On a happier note. The boys have a school carnival on at the end of October at the school. The pictures they have from last year, look like it will be fun for the boys. Hunter has his costume all ready for Halloween. He will be Indiana Jones and Avery is going to be a vampire. He wants me to paint his face and use fake blood this year. Each year he is wanting to be scarier. This is hunters last week of level two swimming lessons. On Oct 6 him and Avery start up in level three. I cant wait to see how Avery does in swimming lessons. It is raining here today and suppose to for the next three days. Last week was really nice, the weather is starting to feel like fall weather and the leaves are starting to fall. One day it was even clear and we could see mount Fuji a little, not good enough for a picture , but hunter got excited to see it. Every day , when there are blue skies , he looks for it.

Saturday Outing

Today we went to PD fish store. The boys had a great time looking at the owls for sale. They want $1,800 for the owls. It would be nice to own one. The boys said we could be like Harry Potter, lol. Crazy price though. We also made it to Joyful Honda, They have a neat craft store in there and they have a petstore too. They had a cute Husky puppy , that looked like Dakota in there, but they wanted $1070 for him. Crazy price again. The cats they wanted $900 for.

I told some of yall that we picked up a nice asian wood table when we got here. Here is what the table looks like and the lamp. Also i found a great picture for Gramma. Thought you would love it. hahahahaha. Can't wait for the game in october.

Also another thing we learned from being in Japan. If you are out off the base not all the signs have english on them. When you are in a parking garage, just look for what someone told me to help me rember it. the exit sign looks like racecar box.

Hunter

I was in the process of picking up paper in the boys room. They have paper everywhere. When I discovered all of these folded papers. Avery and him have really gotten into origami and I was trying to figure out what all of these folded papers are. Then I found the sign to that hunter made. I don't see anybody paying 500 yen or 5 dollars for these little hats, but I thought the sign was cute and it shows that hunter is learning the conversion from dollars to yen.

yeahhhhh, I finally found it.

After months of searching, I finally found the WII fit. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow. Even though I normally don't let them play games during the week, I promised them that tomorrow , we will give it a try. I am going to take pictures of them on it. As long as I can sneak up on Avery and not let him see me taking his picture.

I put in my paper work to be a sub. They said the application should be approved by the end of October , beginning of November. Once they get an approval back , they will call me and I can start subing them. I am excited , but a little nervous because i haven't worked for 10 years.

Avery finally gave in.

Today was sign up for swimming. The lady tested Hunter and said that in October he can go to level three. He is doing so well with his strokes. Avery said that since Hunter is in level three , he will go if he can be in level three . I signed him up in level three, but told him not to get mad if the first day they end up moving him to level two. He wants to jump of the diving board, and I guess seeing his friend swim in the deep end, he feels left out.
I just got my program for school changed. I am now going for a BA in social science w/education. I also am working on filling out the paper work to be a sub at the boys school. Avery told me just to sub for the PE teacher, that way i wont be a sub in his class. I guess he is getting to the age where I am embarrassing to be around.

Open House at School

Yesterday afternoon they had open house at the school. The boys took me around the school
showing me their classrooms and teachers. Hunter has one teacher for the whole day. Except for specials, then he has art, Japanese, Spanish, computers, library and PE. Avery has the same except for Spanish he has another Japanese culture class. He also switches for every class too. All the teachers seemed really nice. The Japanese culture classes look really neat. One of the classes they have these little benches they sit on and have the woven mats on the floor. I picked up the boys a shirt for spirt day on Friday. They made sure i got one because for four years at mountain home , they wanted one and I never got them one. The pattern on their shirt is the picture with the two pandas and the two kids. They have a fall festival coming up , that is the next activity the kids have to look forward to at school.

Joyce's book has made it on line. Here is the website to read a chapter and order on if you like.

Showa Park

Since we have tropical storm sixteen heading towards us from the pacific and a typhoon down in kadena, they have it where he can not go anywhere this weekend. There goes our trip to mount Fuji. So we will have to plan it for another day. But today, my friend Amy showed me how to use the train system here. It is some what overhelming, but hopefully I can get it figured out. She said she will take me a few more times to get comfortable with it. We stopped at Showa park. It is really nice, the brocher said that they have all kinds of flowers there in the spring . They had a kids area, where they have (what the americans call it) marshmellow mountain. It is a big white tampoline that the kids can jump on. In the picture I am jumping on it, it is pretty fun. They have a place where you can rent boats on the weekend and paddle them on the lake. The boys have the 19th off from school, I think it would be a good day out going there.

Hunter

Well we are done with the second week of school. Already the boys are fitting right in. It is starting to feel like we have been here for a while. Slowly are we settling and getting into our normal everyday routine. I talked to Hunter's teacher today and he asked if I ever thought of Hunter as gifted. He said he is going to evaluate him and see about getting him in the gifted program at the school. Hunter took his comics that he made in mountain home to show his teacher and the teacher said he is really impressed with Hunter's creativity.

Praying mantis

They boys found a praying mantis at the park and had me carry it all the way home so we could take a picture of it. They sat outside for over thirty minutes playing with it. They wanted me to post the pictures of it. Boys are too funny, a simple little bug can keep them occupied for hours.

Labor day weekend.

Not much happend this weekend. It was a pretty quite one. Robbie had weekend duty, so we didn't really plan to do anything. The boys and I went swimming on friday and satureday. Hunter is getting so good at his swimming. He can go from half of the pool to the side without stopping. Avery is getting better , but slowly. He still refuses to take swimming lessons. I am going tomorrow to sign him up for football, but that dosn't start until November. We did family night tonight and played risk. The boys enjoyed beating their mom and dad. The second week of school begins tomorrow. They have adjusted really well. The office at the school isnt very friendly. When you go in there to do something, they look straight at you and keep talking to each other like you are invisible. I don't see me volunteering to much at the school. Both boys have male teachers and neither of them really seem to want volunteers. I guess that is more time for me to exercise and do my school. And to try and fit a little japanese language learning in there.
