Avery's baseball game

Avery's team played the local Japanese baseball team. A yokota team hasn't beat the Japanese team in over twenty years. Our team was really close. The score ended up being 9 to 6 and we almost had them on the last inning, our team was up with bases loaded, which could have tied the game and we had two outs. Our batter, hit but was out at first.

Avery's Art club field trip

On Thursday , Avery went on an Art club field trip. They went to an Art museum and to the Ueno zoo. Here are some picture from the trip. They had a diamondback rattler that Avery thought was neat because it followed his finger on the class. I Chaperoned on the trip. It had bears there and Hunter was a little upset that he didn't get to go. That evening though, Hunter had a Cinco de mayo program. He had to wear black dress pants and a white shirt. He looked so cute but got a blister (which he called a blizzard) on his foot.

Noodle making Field Trip

Hunter's class had a noodle making field trip at the local community center off base. They learned how to make the dough, knead the dough (which involved walking on the dough) , roll the dough, and cut the dough to make the noodles. This field trip reminds me of Kung fu Panda for some reason with the dad of the panda having the noodle business. The kids had a great time making and eating the noodles.

Avery's field trip to Showa Park.

The fifth graders went to Showa Park. As soon as we got there, they all rented bikes and biked around the park and stopped to jump on Marshmallow mountain (which is like a trampoline). It was a fun day for the kids.

JaPANDAsia Day

Today at the school , the boys got to experience JaPANDAsia day. The school day was full of Asian activities. There were martial art demonstrations, Hawaiian Dancers, Taiko Drummers, Tea ceremony, Ikebana and other activities that each class got to experience. Not all the class got to participate in everything, It depended on their grade as to what activities they participated in. Hunter did the tea ceremony with his class and avery did Ikebana. Happy Birthday Avery!

Avery had his first baseball game of the season yesterday. We had to go to Zama to play. The kids had a great time, even though they didn't win. After the game , the kids sang happy birthday to avery.
