This past weekend was the friendship festival. We decided to stay away from it. So we spent the weekend getting Avery a new mattress, which he so desperately needed. But I promised Hunter that I would take him to watch the fireworks. You can't see them from our house because the trees are in the way. We stayed on the east side of the base and parked near the north side fitness track and watched them from there. Two minutes into the fireworks, Hunter keeps asking me if it was the grand finale yet. The fireworks show was about 20 minutes long and every five minutes he kept asking if it was the grand finale. He was wanting to see that part of the show. 
Their summer is coming to a close. I go back to work on Wednesday and they go back to school on the 31st.
