First week of 2011

On Monday we returned to work and school after Christmas break. Hunter is already counting down to summer. I told him that will just make time go by slower. Avery's new season of football starts on the 16th of January. Hunter started swimming up and still doesn't like water in his ears. Robbie graduates on the 10 of January. Next he is waiting on a test date to test for master.
Hope everyone is having a great beginning of the New Year.

recipe update

I found a new recipe for granola bars and they turned out really good. I melted some chocolate chips and spread it over them and they are delicious.
Peanut Butter granola bars.
2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup rice krispies (organic if you can find them)
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter, (i use Adam's brand because it has no sugar or hydrogenated oils.)
1/2 cup honey
2 tbsp ground flax seed.
In a small saucepan with honey, pb put on low until honey is liquid and mixes with pb really good.
In a bowl put oats, rice krisipes, and flax seed, mix together. Then ad the honey and pb mixture. mix well. put in a 9x9 baking dish lined with parchment paper. Press down mixture into pan. Spread melted chocolate chips over and let cool. Cut into 18 granola bars. The boys love these. Easy and cheap and healthier for you than packaged food. My goal for the 2011 year is to stay away from as much processed food as possible. I want to have everything fresh and homemade. With the exception of the boys cereal. They don't want to give up their sugary cereal.

Happy New Year 2011!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Hope everyone has a great year. We have alot planned for this year, so it should be a pretty busy year. We are hoping to do a trip in march either around here or take hop somewhere. In the summer time we plan on climbing Mount Fuji. And then right before school starts up we should be able to find out what is available for when we pcs. Hunter was being silly one night, saying that his legs were cold, so he stuffed his pant legs with blankets.
