Happy Halloween

Here are some pictures of the boys before Halloween and of them at the costume party at the youth center.

Shopping Spree

Today at noon, I had the shopping spree i won. I had two minutes to run through the commissary and get $200 worth of stuff. I managed to make the limit. I picked up a 23lb turkey, 2 bags of chicken, 4 bags of crab legs, 3 bags of large shrimp, 3 box cereal, a case of energy drinks and 2 12 pkg of sodas for Robbie and the boys, 9 boxes of granola bars. It was fun to run through the store throwing stuff in the cart.

My Lucky Day

Last night, Avery and I made a quick trip to the commissary to pick up a few items for dinner. I put my name in the Halloween drawing the had at the commissary and didn't even think about it after that. Today after the boys and I got home from the park, I received a call from the commissary, saying I won second place in the drawing. Second place is a $200 shopping spree at the commissary on Halloween. At noon we have to be there for the awards ceremony. Since the boys have no school that Friday, they will be there with me. It should be fun, I just hope they don't take my picture. lol.
Oh yea, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gramma, the game will be on over here at four in the morning. I guess I will be going to bed early Saturday night.

Some pictures

Here are some pictures of Tachikawa, it is a city where people go to shop. It is about a 20 minute train ride from here. This is what most of the places around the base look like. This pictures were from a few weeks ago. I forgot to post them.

Catching up

With Robbie having to work long hours. I ventured off base by foot yesterday. I walked to the seyio and the deiso. It was a nice 10 minute walk from the gate. Boy, are their sidewalks very narrow. Everything is so tiny here. Walking there, I didn't realize how quick the walk is. I got their about 20 minutes before they opened and just ventured a little down the street. I was surprised to see (what we in the south call a creek) a river in Fussa and a cute little statue that I had to take a picture of. I love the statue.

Got back to the base and later that evening found out 15 minutes before a we were suppose to be there that Avery had football assessments. He did really good and enjoyed them, to bad it is flag football though. We go Tuesday to the parent meeting and find out what team he is on.

I signed them up for November swimming lessons and Avery will be in level four and Hunter is still in level three. Avery had art club after school today before their swimming lessons. I volunteered in it and they made cute little pencil holders out of clay. Hunter got to participate because I volunteered. (it is for fourth and fifth graders). They are going to fire them and then they get to paint them. Once we get them back, I will post a picture of them on here. Hunter put a bear on a river trying to get fish on his. and Avery did a game system and TV on his. Then they had swimming lessons.

Can't wait until November 1st, when they have ITT sign up for December. I am going to sign us up for Disneyland as a suprise present for the boys for Christmas. It might be an early present depending on when the tour is. I still can't wait until spring to do the Mount Fuji trip. The boys are wanting to do China. They want to walk the great wall. Not sure what all we are going to do the four years we are here, but they have lots of options.

Weekend and Bazaar

This weekend so far, has been a nice one. Saturday we went off base to the a walmart like store, they had some neat things in there, but nothing that we wanted. The boys found toys they liked in there, but they were kinda expensive. We were looking for some food shaped erasers for Avery (they have them at the Deiso,(think i spelled that right). But not at that store. Then we went to Ceinz, which is like a home improvement store with a pet store in it. They had a neat Christmas display set up and they were playing audio from the Nightmare before Christmas. Hunter got really excited, because he could understand what they were saying at the display, since the audio was in English. There is a train station right by Ceinz and a toys r us, but i have been told the toys r us , is really expensive.

Sunday was a great day. Georgia won, yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Oh the bulldog pictures are for you Gramma, hope you like them. hahahaha. The golf one, I am going to put in the scrapbook next to Avery's Golf pictures. I know you say Gators eat dawgs. But gator taste pretty good to me. hahahahaha. Just had to put that in. =)

Avery and I went to the Asian Bazaar they had this weekend on base. They had a lot of neat stuff there. They had wedding Kimonos and the furisode kimonos there and they wanted anywhere from 400 to 800 dollars for those kimonos, but they were really pretty. I will stick with getting a kimono for 40 dollars from the bx one of these days before I leave Japan. I did buy framed scene that was hand carved. You can see it in the picture above. It is really pretty and very neat. They had very pretty furniture there. I did pretty well, only spent $18.00. I was proud of myself. They had a lot of stuff in there that i would love to own though. They had a very beautiful Turkish rug in there, but the price was crazy. they wanted $1400 for it and that was 20 percent off. I hope they have another one of these bazaars in the spring time. I am not sure how many of these they have each year. They have a craft fair coming up sometime soon, I think in November. Not sure what they will have there. Might be neat to have a look.

Happy Columbus Day!

Avery and swimming

Avery decided to finally take up swimming lessons. I and his daddy, thought that they would end up moving him down a leve. I signed him up for Level three with Hunter, but I didn't think he was a well enough swimmer to be in level three. I was going to let the teacher tell him that. After his swimming lessons on Monday, the teacher asked me why I put him in level three. I am thinking, (becuase Avery wouldn't listen to me that he needs to be in level two, that is where you get to tell him). But I said, becuase I wasn't quite sure which level to put him in. The teacher said, that he is a strong swimmer and in his opinion , Avery should be in level four. Avery had the biggest grin on his face, and now (even though I am keeping him in level three for this month) Avery thinks that swimming is the best thing and he wants to stick with it.
Oh yea, we are also hitting the pre teen attitude with Avery too. The fun is just beginning. Hunter wants us to adopt a brother for him, so he can have a nicer brother. lol. Hunter is funny, I am just glad I still have one that hasn't hit that stage yet. Hopfully , Hunter will hit it later than Avery did.

Finding Nemo

We have a new favorite place we like to go visit every few weekends. It is called PD's fish store. They have all kinds of fresh and salt water fish. They also have turtles , little and very big, (Hunter wants us to have a turtle and not the small ones either). They have owls and other critters there. I took some pictures of our tank , we picked up some rocks there to make it look nicer. Next thing we need to get, is a background picture to go on the back of the tank , to make it look a little nicer.

Avery lost a tooth this morning and Hunter has one lose. They were having some sort of competition to see who's would fall out first.

A nice clear day

After three days of rain, it has turned out to be a really nice day here. I think it is in the 70's and first time that i could see Mnt Fuji really well since we have been here. I took some pictures from around base and one of mnt Fuji, but the mnt Fuji picture didn't turn out to well. you can kinda see it.
The picture with the big tree and the little bush, is our back yard. not very big, and once those leaves fall, we are going to have some fun, lol.
